TL;DR — The short version

Unix Epoch Converter collects no personal data, sends nothing to any server, and stores only your UI preferences and recent conversion history locally on your own device. That's it.

1. Who We Are

Unix Epoch Converter is a Chrome browser extension that converts Unix timestamps to human-readable dates and vice versa. It is a single-purpose developer utility. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

We collect no personal data whatsoever. The extension stores three small pieces of information locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:

Data Purpose Where stored Shared?
Preferred output format Remembers your last selected date format (e.g. SQL, ISO) between sessions Local device only Never
UI theme preference Remembers whether you selected light or dark mode Local device only Never
Recent conversion history Stores the last 10 timestamps you converted so you can quickly reference or reload them Local device only Never

3. Data We Do Not Collect

4. Remote Requests

The extension loads the IBM Plex Mono and Syne typefaces from Google Fonts via a CSS stylesheet request. This is a standard font delivery request used by millions of websites. It contains no user data, no identifiers, and no information about what you are doing in the extension. No JavaScript is loaded remotely. All conversion logic runs entirely within your browser.

Other than the Google Fonts stylesheet request, the extension makes no network requests of any kind.

5. Data Sharing & Sale

We do not sell, share, license, or transfer any data to any third party under any circumstances. There are no advertising partners, analytics providers, or data brokers involved with this extension.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

All locally stored data (your format preference, theme preference, and conversion history) lives exclusively on your device and is cleared automatically if you uninstall the extension. You can also clear it at any time by right-clicking the extension icon, selecting "Manage extension," and clicking "Clear data," or by clearing your Chrome extension storage through Chrome settings.

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is a developer utility not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under the age of 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change in the Chrome Web Store listing. Continued use of the extension after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
