Project rescue & stabilisation

Don't scrap it.
Rescue it.

Inherited a half-finished platform? Lost the original developer? Watching error rates climb and feature velocity stall? We audit, stabilise, and refactor — so you can keep what's worth keeping and scale what's worth scaling.

Diagnosis

Signs of a
failing project.

If three or more of these sound familiar, the project doesn't need a new feature. It needs a rescue.

Spaghetti code Every change breaks something else. Adding a feature takes weeks. The original developer was the only person who could navigate it.
Ghosting developer Your developer/agency stopped responding. You're sitting on a half-finished codebase nobody can hand off cleanly. No documentation, no tests.
Performance drag Pages slow under real load. Database queries timing out. Costs climbing on every cloud bill. Users complaining about flakiness.
Our approach

Four phases.
From triage to ownership.

Most rescues follow the same arc. We don't promise miracles in week one — we promise honest assessment and stable progress.

1

Forensic code audit

One-week deep read of the codebase. Architecture review, security scan, dependency audit, test coverage report, infrastructure walkthrough. You get a written diagnosis with prioritised risks.

2

Emergency stabilisation

Patch the bleeding first: critical security holes, production crashes, data integrity issues. We don't refactor at this stage — we stop the system from getting worse.

3

Refactoring

Once stable, we refactor the worst-offending modules incrementally. Add tests as we go. Replace deprecated dependencies. Document architecture decisions. The codebase becomes one a new developer could pick up.

4

Ownership handover

You receive: documented codebase, deployment runbooks, architecture diagrams, credentials handover, full IP transfer. Optional: ongoing retainer for support and continued evolution.

The rescue landscape

Most rescues
are recoverable.

The honest answer: only ~10% of rescue audits conclude "rebuild from scratch." Most projects have a workable core and a fixable surface — the trick is knowing the difference before you spend money on the wrong path.

~70%
Of audits → "stabilise & refactor"
~20%
→ "partial rewrite of one subsystem"
~10%
→ "honest answer, start over"

Stop the bleeding.
Audit first.

A one-week forensic code audit costs a fraction of a rebuild. You walk away with a written diagnosis and a fact-based decision instead of a guess.
